317 Franklin Street
Formal organization of the congregation occurred on 21 June 1832 and the original building consecrated in 1838.  The current building was consecrated in 1881.   Rev. Albert A. Muller was listed as the first rector.    Bethel United Methodist Church
United Methodist Church

Methodists were meeting in a log structure between Pulibc Square and the Cumberland River in the early 1800s, however, early records show that they were in this area as by 1787.  Little West Fork Baptist Church
201 Britton Springs Road
Organized in 1818 by Elder Reuben Ross.  The first church was built of logs and was located on the banks of Little West Fork Creek. It was also known as one of the first Women's Missionary Societies in Montgomery County.   Wilee's Chapel, United Methodist Church
Cooper Creek Road
Established in 1860 by a group of citizens of the Woodlawn Community.  The original church building was built on land lying along the banks of Cooper Creek that was donated by Ben & Riley Wilee, brothers.  First Presbyterian Church (c.1876)

The First Presbyterian Church was organized on 25 May 1822 by Rev. Gideon Blackburn.  Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and St. Mary's School.
Franklin Street

This church, built in 1880, replaced an earlier church on Washington Street (now College St.).  The bell in the tower came from Ireland.  St. Mary's School, located next to the church, began in the early 1900's.Martha's Chapel United Methodist Church

Organized in 1869 under the ministry and supervision of Rev. John Reynolds.  The deed was recorded on 5 Feb 1874 Deed Book 15, page 634 and named in honor of Mrs. Martha Mills Lowe and was the wife of the local minister.
